“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” I Peter 2:9
As the pressures on our children and young people rise there is an increasing need for them to know the Word of God. Word Warriors is a place they can do just that. Our teachers, Janet Pinkham and Susan Bobo, work with the kids to teach them to handle the Word of God respectfully, learn the books of the Old & New Testaments, memorize scripture along with the references, and then demonstrate what they have learned in front of the congregation. We believe learning to wield the “Sword of the Spirit” will help them grow and mature into Christian adults.
The book of Genesis details the lineage of man from Adam to Noah in chapter 5. In that lineage the average age of a man at his death was about 908. One man sticks out of that crowd and that was Enoch. Enoch lived only 365 years here on the earth. The bible says that he walked with God all 365 of those years and then he was no more “for God took him.” The name Enoch means “dedicated.” This generation of teens is targetted by every sales executive, song writer, actor, actress, drug dealer, partying friend and spiritual force of evil in the heavenly realm. We are drawing the line in the sand and choosing to be dedicated to walk with God 365 days a year, just like Enoch. It’s who we are, it’s how we live.
If you are between the 7th and 12th grades in high school we’d love to have you as a part of our group. Get a notebook, grab a bible, snag a ride and we’ll see you at church. Wednesday nights at 7:00, Sunday mornings at 9:30.

This class was born out of a call of God and a need for high school graduates, young adults, and young marrieds to have a place of their own. This is a new ministry for the church and will be headed by Bro. Chris. The class will give its members a place of commonality as they share and study God’s Word in areas specific to their needs. It is an exciting time for this age group and will be interesting to see where God takes them.
If you are out of high school, in college, working as a young adult, or are a young married couple, this class may be just right for you! This will offer you a place to study, to grow in grace and to fellowship with others in similar circumstances to yours.
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4
NHC has an Intercessory Prayer Team currently composed of five different small teams which take turns praying for the church each week. Each individual team goes to the sanctuary and intercedes for the church, the worship services for the week, and any special needs which exist at that particular time. There is a receptacle in the sanctuary for prayer requests to be placed anonymously.
As part of the intercessory prayer effort we have a team of prayer warriors who pray for the Intercessors by name each week. They serve as reinforcement for the Intercessors as they serve on the front lines of spiritual warfare each week.
